When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Irish eyes smile when the sun glows like a shiny piece of gold.

They’re gleaming down on freckled faces relieving them from the chilly bitter cold.

Irish eyes smile when the sound of laughter and cheer fills the room.

They’re replacing the feeling of sadness that was a blanket of gloom and doom.

Irish eyes smile when smells of meat are sizzling on the grill.

They’re drawing the attention of curious noses like a predator on prey going for a kill.

Irish eyes smile when Jesus’ name is said,

Pray and worship him daily while you bow your head.

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to the which also ye were called in one body; and be ye thankful.” Colossians 3:15 ASV.
