Weekend Jams: 7 Songs about Him

Christian music is positive and encouraging songs about our Creator! Since I have been listening to K-love, which is a Christian radio station that a friend recommended to me I became a different person ( in a fantastic way) of course. I came to know Jesus and wanted to get to know Him and spread the joy to others. Instead of feeling anger, frustration, depression, and anxiety this music helps me feel: hope, love, kindness toward others, with a new found wisdom and understanding I haven’t experienced with anything else!

Here are seven of my favorite songs. You should try to listen to these songs this weekend instead of the typical songs that you usually go to first. See how your mood will change for the better:

  1. “Save My Life” by Sidewalk Prophets
  2. “God Help Me” by Plumb
  3. “Scars” by I Am They
  4. “My Feet on the Rock” by I Am They
  5. “Hills & Valleys” by Tauren Wells
  6. “In Better Hands” by Natalie Grant
  7. “More Beautiful You” by Jonny Diaz

After your weekend is over and you have listened to K-love and all the Christian songs I have suggested I want to hear how your mood changed. Did it change for the better? Do you feel more positive, lighter, and hopeful? Please share in the comments below.

‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end. And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. Jeremiah 29:11-12

God bless you all!

Music is Where the Soul Lives

Music is the most powerful force of energy on this earth! Just the type of music you listen to everyday can affect so much. It can affect your mood, actions, thoughts, attitude, and much more. How many times a day do you listen to music? I would guess probably at least 5 times a day or more. While you commute to work, at work, working out, driving in the car, walking, practically everywhere you go. So what do you love to listen to? How does that music affect you every day?

The only type of music I listen to now is Jesus music! Yes good and empowering Christian music and I have not looked back. My soul literally craves it and it gets me going and on the right track for the entire day. Does your music do that? I use to be one of those people who listened to hip hop and rap music all day everyday and I was just so angry. Don’t get me wrong I can go for a good Tupac, Eminem, or Biggie song every now and then but the difference is that now it doesn’t consume my soul. Jesus has taken their place and filled me up with love!

Here are some of my favorite Christian songs: listen to one each and every morning and see the effect it has on you and the people around you every day!

Jesus I Believe

Dream Small

Count Every Blessing

This is just a few of my favorite Christian songs that inspire and makes me think about and love Jesus even more every day. Start changing your music habits and try to fit Jesus music in between your angry hip hop and rock music. Replace anger with love and feel the difference it makes in your day.

If you already are a Christian music lover please share your favorite song in the comments or your favorite radio station. My favorite Christian radio station is K-love. My favorite Christian song is Amazing Grace.

Need to Elevate your Mood Today? Here’s How…

I don’t know about you but all of this rainy weather really does effect my mood and it ain’t good. Rain may be fabulous for the flowers but for me I prefer warm sunny days over wet rainy ones so I have thought of and tried some tricks of the trade to naturally elevate your mood. Pick and choose which ones you want to give a try depending on your lifestyle, personality, and risk taking ability. It ain’t rock science but it could be something you haven’t thought of…

Wake Up Extra Early

I know what you are thinking, “No way!” Trust me this really works, pushing yourself to wake up a little earlier then usual actually does elevate your mood. Fit in a cup of coffee, a warm shower (mixed with a cold burst at the very end), a quick 15 minute workout (stretches and yoga at home), and your more then ready for your day. This simple morning routine is easy to do and it will instantly put you in a better mood despite the rain. All you have to do is give yourself an extra 30 minutes and you will start to caught yourself whistling while on your commute to work.

Having Sex

Yup! This a natural mood elevator so grab your special honey and rock each other’s worlds a few more times a week then usual. I’m not here to talk about sex but if you are age appropriate and you do have that “special someone” or that “right now” person, after you will feel a rush of good mood hormones go straight to your brain and that silly grin will appear on your face. Take a look at this article by a doctor on the subject if you want to educate yourself further.

Take Time Out To Enjoy

We are all different so we have little special things we enjoy doing that makes us happy. Take that time out today or during the week to do that, whether your are trying to inspire people through writing on social media (like me!), reading some of your book you haven’t picked up in a while, treating yourself to your favorite meal, going to the movies (my favorite thing to do on a rainy day), whatever you want to do. Happiness is something you have to work on so do something that gives you that warm fuzzy feeling on a cloudy gloomy Wednesday.

Make Someone’s Day Today

This is a very easy thing to accomplish, just do something nice for someone else. There are a million small things that matter to people everyday and it is not hard to try, just look around and seize an opportunity. I was on the train and I had a few extra dollars on hand, so I gave it to a hungry father and son asking people for help. It was something very small and simple but I got a smile from both father and son while the father said, “thank you and God bless”. I smiled back and said, “Good luck”, and it made me feel good. This is just one small example of something you can do, you don’t have to give anyone money. Other simple things you can do that doesn’t require a cent are: letting someone skip you in line today, complimenting someone to make them feel good, give your seat up to someone who can use it more then you on your commute home, help an old lady with her bags, there are a million things you can do to make someone else’s day brighter while elevating your mood too. Smiles and good deeds mixed with kindness is contagious!

Please go out there today with a happy outlook on life and spread the love. You don’t always need a cocktail or a small blue pill to enhance your mood. Bad moods can really be turned into good ones it just takes some helpful little tricks, a little faith, and some tweaking to your everyday routine. Comment and share some helpful, natural tricks you do that turns your frown upside down.
